# The Freedom of Being Nobody #video #vedanta #advaitavedanta Some time ago I was having a conversation with a person and I mentioned to them that I was on a journey to becoming nobody. The context of the conversation we were having centred on the subject of "achieving things in life" i.e. becoming somebody. My intent in saying this was to convey that I was no longer interested in becoming 'somebody' and therefore I was on a journey to being nobody. The person I was speaking to was confused and couldn't understand what I meant. I found it difficult to explain the concept at the time and simply explained it as a desire to not be identified as anything in particular. In other words a nobody. This, rather insufficient explanation, seemed to satisfy her but I could see she was still confused by my statement. I subsequently started to think about how I could explain this rather strange view of the world if it ever came up again in conversation and some time later (by chance) I happened on the video below (_...is anything really by chance?_).
